Double Reeds

At Sax & Woodwind we check our oboe, Cor Anglais, and bassoon reeds to ensure they are free from damage prior to leaving the store.

To avoid splitting your new reed we recommend you moisten the blade of your new reed in water and wait 2-3 minutes before playing. To get the most out of your reed please try the following tips:

• gradually build up blowing the reed from 10 minutes
• allow to air dry between practices
• rotate between a few reeds
• store your reeds in a ventilated reed case
