C.G.Conn is a US manufacturer who have been engineering brass and woodwind instruments since 1915. Conn is known all around the world for the immense quality and consistency of their instruments, especially in their premium range. This reputation has allowed them to be used in the majority of orchestras, brass bands and jazz bands across the world.
Like other trombones from Conn, the 88HO is constructed using premium rose brass. Rose brass is the material of choice for the majority of orchestral brass players as it has a darker sound compared to the more common yellow brass. The 88HO has a chrome plated nickel silver inner slide which provides a bright and powerful sound to the performer. Nickel silver is used for many premium trombone slides because it's firmer and has greater corrosion resistance compared to standard brass. Once the 88HO has been constructed, a layer of clear lacquer is applied to make sure the instrument stays looking newer for longer
